Celebrating Success Ceremony 2009
Coleg Menai paid tribute to students who have excelled and progressed in their studies during the past academic year at a prestigious Awards Ceremony – Celebrating Success ‘09.
Over 230 Further Education students, award sponsors, college staff and guests attended the glittering ceremony, held at the Celtic Royal Hotel, Caernarfon on Monday.
The event was a great opportunity for the college to celebrate the achievements of students across college courses and to highlight the importance of their partnership with employers.
The event was hosted by the face of S4C’s Sgorio, Morgan Jones, and entertainment was provided by local well known singer Elin Fflur and Jazz pianist, Dr Jochen Eisentraut.

Graduation Ceremony 2009
Coleg Menai held its Graduation Ceremony again this year in the beautiful Cathedral in Bangor, the City of Learning. Over 100 students graduated from Coleg Menai this year in the ceremony that took place on Friday the 10th July at 2pm.
Some representatives from the Higher Education Institutions, who are currently working in partnership with the college, were present at the ceremony. The institutions involved were Bangor University, Glyndwr University, the University of Wales College Newport and the University of Glamorgan.
Among the qualifications presented this year was the BA Honors in Fine Art and Design, Higher National Diplomas and Certificates in Sports Science, Construction, Engineering, Business, Hospitality Management, Leisure Management IT, Post Graduate Certificates in Education and Marketing and many more.

Apprenticeship Oscars @ Coleg Menai
Coleg Menai paid tribute to students who have achieved their Apprenticeship Framework in a prestigious Apprenticeship Awards Ceremony.
Over 200 successful apprentices, employers and college staff attended the glittering ceremony, held at the Celtic Royal Hotel, Caernarfon.
Guests were treated to entertainment by singer Lleuwen Steffan and musicians Owen Lloyd-Evans and Dr Jochen Eisentraut
Employer support
A wide range of regional employers who supported the students through their Apprenticeships attended the event. Amongst them were significant technology companies like First Hydro, Denis Ferranti Meters Ltd., ISC and Rehau Ltd and representatives from the Building and Construction industry - Selwyn Edwards, G.W. Roberts Building Contractor, M. Parry & Sons, Kieron Trevor, Tony Clarke, John A. Jones, C.K. Joinery, Ricky Roberts, Thompson Brothers, P.M. Williams. Mike Bennett, Ian Jones, Jonathan Jones, Dylan Roberts, John Alwyn Roberts and Garry Watkinson.
Automotive and Welding employers included: AVW Porsche Engineering,
North Wales Fire & Rescue, Cyngor Gwynedd, Berwyn Coaches, Tyn Lôn Garage, Castle Garage and B&K Williams Ltd.
The Electrical and Plumbing industry was represented by Owen & Palmer,
Jones & Whitehead, Gwynedd Electrical, Welsh Country Foods, Keith Chamberlain,
B. Jones Plumbing & Heating, Dewi Roberts, Ian Thomas Plumbing & Heating and Celtic Heating & Plumbing.
The employers of Apprentices in the Service Industries included Tre-Ysgawen Hall, G&G’s Hairdresser, Y Steil, Siop Sera, Zax Salon, Cynllun Bond Agorfa, Caredig Cyf. and Quality Care Wales Ltd.
The event, presented by Iestyn Garlick, was a great opportunity for the college to highlight the importance of their partnership with employers and to celebrate the achievements of the Apprentices.
Every student who has achieved their Apprenticeship Framework was presented with a certificate and the winner and runner-up for each Apprenticeship route was also announced on the night. These successful students also received a certificate and cheque to mark their achievement.
