Committee Structure

The Corporation has established a number of committees to carry out its work. In accordance with Coleg Menai's Instrument and Articles of Government these committees include four statutory committees, known as the:

• Search Committee – to advise on the appointment of members of the Corporation. Terms of Reference
• Audit Committee – to advise on matters relating to audit arrangements and systems of internal control. Terms of Reference
• Reporting Committee - to be responsible for collecting and examining the evidence in respect of grievance and misconduct cases of holders of senior posts / Clerk to the Corporation. Terms of Reference
• Special Committee – to deal with grievance complaints and formal matters of misconduct of holders of senior posts / Clerk to the Corporation. Terms of Reference

and five delegated committees, known as the:

• Quality Committee – to advise the Corporation on all aspects of governance and quality. Terms of Reference
• Curriculum and Students Committee – to advise the Corporation on matters relating to Curriculum and Students. Terms of Reference
• Human Resource Committee – to advise on matters relating to employment of college staff. Terms of Reference
• Finance, Estates and General Purpose Committee – to review and monitor the position on income expenditure, capital expenditure and advise the Corporation on the college Budget, Financial Strategy, Estate matters and other financial matters. Terms of Reference
• Remuneration Committee – to advise on pay and conditions of service of senior staff. The governing body has defined “senior staff” to include the Principal and all Vice Principals. Terms of Reference

All these Committees receive and discuss relevant matters and make recommendations to the full Corporation. Each committee has clear terms of reference that are reviewed every two years.

Co-opted members are invited to serve on committees to provide specialist expertise related to the committee's functions and from time to time other specialist advice will be sought where this is deemed necessary
