Wine & Dine in Friars Restaurant

The Friar’s restaurant offers some of the best cuisine in the area. As a training restaurant seating up to 35 guests we are open during the week for restaurant service and for small functions. Ideal for a variety of catering needs such as buffets, parties, annual dinners together with our bar facilities.

The restaurant is operated by students who are studying for a variety of hospitality and catering courses within the faculty. As a training restaurant our students are supervised by a team of experienced staff.

Every effort is made to bring you the highest standards of food, wine and service to create a memorable dining experience. Food is professionally served in friendly surroundings and the atmosphere created ensures our guests return again and again.

Opening Times

The restaurant opens on Wednesday 14 October 2009.
We will be accepting table reservations from 28 September 2009

* Lunch Wednesday to Friday - 12.00 noon

Last orders 12.15pm

* Dinner Wednesday & Thursday - 6.45pm

Last orders 7.00pm

We suggest that pick-ups be arranged for no later than 2.30p.m. after lunch and 9.00 p.m. after dinner.

Parties

We are happy to accommodate parties of up to 35 and children are always welcome.

Prices

Lunch:

Starters - £2.15 Main courses - £4.15 Puddings - £2.00 Coffee/Tea - 70p. Total - £9.00

Dinner:

Three courses and coffee - £11.95

Payment methods

We accept cash sterling and cheques with a valid guarantee card. Credit may be extended only by prior arrangement.

Gratuities

All gratuities are paid into a student tip account and are used to help fund educational trips.

Special diets

Where possible, we will endeavour to accommodate guests with specific dietary requirements. To assist us we ask customers to mention any requirements at the time of booking.

Vegetarian dishes are included on every menu

Any of our food items may contain traces of nuts

Drinks

We have a licensed bar with a stock of wines, spirits and soft drinks available to diners

Bookings

Enquiries and reservations can be dealt with most Wednesdays to Fridays from 10.00am to 2.30pm.To avoid disappointment guests are strongly advised to book.
